Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Lea attended Punahou School and graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, with a Bachelor of Science. Knowing that she wanted to pursue singing as a career, and having been told her voice suited Italian Opera, she lived in Italy for three years, working with Maestri, honing her Italian language and continuing her vocal training. She then made Manhattan, New York her professional base from 2001until 2007, as she traveled the globe performing professionally with Symphony and Opera companies all over China, and Malaysia and within the United States as well.

Coming home to Oahu to raise her family, Lea continued her musical performance passion by performing in six productions with Diamond Head Theatre, worked with Grammy nominated Guitarist, Jeff Peterson on their three CDs entitled “Sing-A-Long with Lea & Jeff” vol. 1 & 2, as well as “Laule’a” and in 2021 released an EP entitled "Hope", all found on digital media platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. She is thrilled to be making her debut with the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra in November for the opening concert of their Hapa Symphony series and looks forward to collaborating on future projects with friends who know how to support and think outside of the box.
