Intro
The 25/26 HapaSymphony series starts with chicken skin Hawaiian tales by master storyteller Lopaka Kapanui, “The Ghost Guy.” The author of four spooky story compilations, including Haunted Hawaiiian Nights and The Legend of Morgan's Corner, Kapanui joins your Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra and HSO Composer in Residence Michael-Thomas Foumai for a concert ghost tour paired with spooky symphonic favorites, The Mysteries of Hawaiʻi in Concert! Featuring music from Batman, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and more.
Come early for a costume contest featuring candy and prizes from Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra, Hawaii Theatre Center, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Hawai‘i International Film Festival, Ballet Hawaii, and Kawaii Kon starting an hour before the show!
Costume Contest includes 2 categories: Solo & Group.
This event is recommended for ages 12 and up.
